How Amber Fort tours differ
A tour of Amber Fort can mean a licensed guide who meets you at the gate, a half-day trip from Jaipur with a driver, or a full-day Jaipur tour that includes Amer with other monuments. The price depends less on the fort than on what is bundled: the entry ticket, a guide, transport, a jeep to the top or the evening show.

You can hire a guide at the site or book one in advance. Agree the price, the language and the length before you start. The state tourism department keeps regional lists of guides and travel agencies. Do not pay for a guide just because someone at the gate offers one.
Half-day trip from Jaipur

Guides at Jaigarh Fort
The only fort near Amber with published guide rates.
At Jaigarh only guides licensed by the Jaigarh Public Charitable Trust are allowed. The listed fees are per group, not per person: INR 400 for 1 to 4 people, INR 500 for 5 to 10 people and INR 600 for 10 to 15 people. A group of exactly 10 falls into both bands, so ask which one applies. Do not transfer these fees to Amber Fort. The Jaigarh Fort page has the entry prices and hours.

Only if the tour description says so. Many tours leave the entry ticket out, which for a foreign adult is INR 1,000 in 2026. Ask before you book.
Do I need a guide at Amber Fort?
No guide is required for the palace. A guide can explain the history and the layout. If you do hire one, agree the fee first.
How long does a visit take?
That depends on the season, your pace and whether you add the Sheesh Mahal, the gardens and a walk to the stepwell. Tour operators state their own durations, so use those.
Can I combine Amber with Jaigarh Fort?
